Hey everyone,

As of today, I am proud to announce that new icons are now being rolled out.

Each icon has been crafted around one base icon that gives each icon uniqueness, yet at the same time allow each icon to work together, forming the complete brand.

These app icons should be rolling out to Blueprint users within the next few weeks, and will be rolling out to the general public on the next update of the app.

theBeat 2.0

Hey everyone,

theBeat 2.0 is now available! This release of theBeat comes with many new features, including

Artist and Album view
New animations when switching between panes
Better Playlist management
Improved Media Listing
Album Art support
New buttons to automatically add all visible music to the playlist
New Visualisation called Bars

This release also fixes a few bugs:

The MPRIS PropertyChanged D-Bus event will only be sent when properties are changed so KDE Connect won’t cause your phone to heat up any more

CD Playback is almost ready! We expect to have CD playback in the next version. Stay tuned for that!

You can see install instructions for theBeat here. If you’re using Arch Linux, it’s available as thebeat on the AUR and on my repository.

theSlate Public Preview

Hey everyone,

I’m happy to announce that theSlate is now officially available for public preview on Windows, macOS and Linux!

A few things to note before you go ahead and download theSlate:

This is a public preview. Development is currently pretty fast so if you want the latest version of theSlate, you should come back and grab it every so often :)
Most of theSlate is untested. Features may disappear, break or contain critical bugs.

tsscreenlock 2.3

Hey everyone,

The screen locker for theShell, tsscreenlock, has received an update to version 2.3. Here’s what’s new:

Screen Locker will now work properly when the screen configuration changes
The login screen has received a redesign, and this authentication interface will be slowly rolled out to the* apps
Mouse passwords are now supported

theSafe

Hey everyone,

I’ve created a new backup tool called theSafe. It uses the bup program to actually perform the backups, and will run silently in the background.

Configuring and monitoring theSafe is easy with the configuration tool being made to be simple to use.

You can get the source code on GitHub.

As always, theSafe is available in the AUR and in my custom repository as a prebuilt binary package for those of you using Arch Linux (or a derivative)
